My name is Hilda Joyner, I am the Elementary Spanish Teacher. I was born in Colombia. I worked there as a bilingual teacher for 25 years, and the last 15 years with an International school, which trained me in teaching a second language to young learners. I also worked as a professor at college, teaching future teachers how to introduce a second language in the early stage before I came to work and live in the USA. This is my sixth year here at the Neuse Charter School. I got married 7 years ago, and we have 5 beautiful grandchildren. One granddaughter is in Colombia, and four granddaughters are here in Clayton. I like to travel, learn about different cultures, eat Italian and Hispanic food, watch movies and talk in English and Spanish.
Tar Heel born, I became Tar Heel bred at UNC Chapel Hill where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications. I started at Neuse as a volunteer/ substitute teacher during its second year, became a teacher and never left. I love teaching Technology where students benefit from my years of corporate and technology experience. My hobbies include traveling, hiking, swimming, cycling and running. I can't wait to show your child all that technology has to offer. Go Cougars and Go HEELS!
