I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1998 with a BA in Psychology and Sociology. I decided I wanted to teach and began my teaching career at Selma Elementary. I taught Behavior and Emotionally Disabled kids my first year and assisted in the classroom the next year. My third year I taught kindergarten and have not left this grade yet. I returned to school for my teaching degree and received my Masters in Education from Campbell University. I received my National Board Certification in 2004 and in 2013 I went through the renewal process for National Board Certification. I passed and still hold my National Board Certification. I have been at the Charter school since it opened its doors. I live in Smithfield with my husband, Patrick, and our wonderful dog, Cooper. I like to cook, watch TV, and read.
I've been living in Johnston County for the past 22 years. I graduated from SSS in 1996 and received my B.S. in Elementary Education and a concentration in Child Development and Family Relations from ECU in 2003. My husband and I have a daughter, Camille, a son Tucker and a baby girl on the way! Camille is a fourth grader at Neuse Charter. I enjoy reading, exercising and playing games with my family. We have 1 dog, 3 cats, and 1 rabbit. As you can tell, I'm an animal lover! I am licensed to teach K-6 and have taught nearly every elementary grade level. Kindergarten is definitely the most fun and rewarding! Besides my state license, I'm also AIG certified. I look forward to another awesome year at Neuse Charter School.

Hi! My name is Lisa Roycroft. I was born in Charleston, WV. I am married to my high school crush Greg, and we have two wonderful boys, Josh and Joey and a crazy happy, puppy named Jingles! We have lived in Clayton since 2002. My oldest son has been at Neuse since the second grade. Joey was lucky enough to have his start in Kindergarten at Neuse. I volunteered in his class room and found I wanted to be there all the time. I earned the highly qualified teacher assistant certification from Johnston Community College. Our family is involved in cub scouts and Boy Scouts. I am on the committee for Pack 124. I am very excited to be a part of the Neuse Charter family and staff. Go Cougars!
I move to Smithfield, five years ago with my husband and 4 amazing kids. I enrolled my children in Neuse Charter immediately after the move, and they have been thriving ever since. One of the parts I love most about this school is its parent volunteer opportunities. As a parent volunteer, I spent 2 years assisting various K-2 teachers in and out of the classroom. The wonderful experiences I shared with the NCS students inspired me to attend Johnston Community College to earn my highly qualified certification. I returned to Neuse Charter the following year as a Substitute Teacher for grades K-12. My goal as a Teacher Assistant this year is to encourage self-confidence in each student in order to develop his or her curiosity and love of learning. My happiness outside the classroom includes spending time with my family, or a quiet moment with my paintbrush and canvas. I feel very blessed as a parent and TA to be a part of the Neuse Charter family!
