My name is Heather Hansley. I am a native of Johnston County. I currently live in Selma. This will be my first year as a teacher at Neuse Charter School, but I have been a parent at Neuse for three years. My daughter, Lola, will begin third grade this year. This year we also added a new addition to our family, a daughter, named Charley. I received a degree in Elementary Education and a K-12 Reading License, from East Carolina University. I also have two associates degrees. I have an associates in Business Administration and an Associates of Arts. I previously taught second grade at Cooper Elementary, in Clayton. Before becoming a teacher, I was a relationship banker with RBC Bank. After some soul searching, I decided to return to school in 2011 to obtain my teaching license. I have been happy with the decision I made. Teaching is truly my calling, and I find so much joy in watching my students learn and grow in all areas. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and going to the beach. I am so excited for the opportunity to be a teacher at Neuse and I look forward to a great year.
My name is Kelsey Pike and I am so incredibly excited to be teaching fourth grade at Neuse this year! I am originally from Virginia Beach and made my way to Johnston County after graduating from East Carolina University in 2012. I earned my degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Child Studies K-12. I have taught first grade and sixth grade over the past four years and am so glad to be settling right in the middle with fourth graders! Outside of school, I love spending time at the barn riding my horse, going on long trails with my two dogs, and traveling to the mountains with my husband and our fur babies!
